Selfie sessions on Key Biscayne island, Florida — one of the most liberating, carefree days of my life.

“And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.” R. Dahl

Welcome to my little corner of the internet! I’m Emilie, a 26-year-old French-British graduate of the University of St Andrews. Proud owner of two passports, an M.A. in English Literature and German and a burning desire to see the world and learn ALL of its languages.

This curiosity brought me to travel to Peru after graduation, for what was going to be a few months of volunteering. After meeting my wonderful boyfriend here, those few months turned into a year, and over two years later, I’m still here!

After teaching English, French and German for a few years, I’m now working in Development & Digital Marketing at a French travel website based here in Arequipa.

I created this blog to document my life in South America, with all its colourful and spicy ups-and-downs, and to share my experiences, snapshots, and thoughts on this journey.

The motto that inspired this unusual journey: “one day you’ll leave this world behind, so live a life you will remember.”
